Had a girl’s day yesterday with my friend Kris: shopping (Michael’s for more MS Crafts stuff, Target for my new favorite sunglasses), the best grilled cheese in Ames (it blows my mind when businesses don’t have websites, Wallaby’s I’m talking to you!) and a cheesy chick flick. The perfect day…

Today I cuddled up to a stack of magazines and some cupcakes, which for some reason I always crave when Matt’s gone. (When I’m gone he orders bunches of books from Amazon - ?)

Finally got a chance to check out the new MS: Crafts line at Michael’s yesterday. Somehow managed to escape with only buying 2 things - so many goodies! There were 1 1/2 aisles of stuff, but I hear there’s a lot more coming.

ps - Hot Fuzz was hilarious, I would highly recommend it (and I’m pretty picky about movies).

Wanted to send love and prayers to the Lee family who’s son Christopher (Monroe’s uncle) died this morning. He was the best man at my sister’s wedding, I was the maid of honor and got to know him a little bit. He was like a big teddy bear. He’ll be missed.

My niece is here! Monroe Lee was born yesterday at 5:04pm. Esther’s water broke 13 hours earlier so it was a long day, but she was amazing and Monroe is gorgeous (and I’m so honored that I got to be there).

Also, I wanted to mention my amazing husband whose new book got up to #85 on Amazon today before it sold out - !!!!!!! And it’s a boring computer book!!! (No offense hon, you rock!) I’m so proud of him, he put so much work into it and deserves every success. :)

I’m heading to Vegas Monday to help my ready-to-pop sister Esther. I can’t wait, I’m so sick of this Iowa “spring” bs. A few weeks ago it was 80 degrees, now it’s in he low 20’s and all the lovely blooms that were brave enough to come out are dead. The past few mornings I’ve seen snow. Boo…

Anyway, the first pic is one of my books Earth Songs from 1973. It’s actually some cheesy Hallmark poetry book, but the illustrations are gorgeous (this image is actually the back of the book, I flipped it around in Photoshop, hehe).

The second pic is me with bangs - ! Some of my favorite girls have bangs (Charlotte Gainsbourg, Zooey Deschanel, Audrey Tautou), so I decided to try them (again). I think I like them. Now to see if I can actually stand them in my face.

The bottom image is of one of my new photo cards on my Etsy shop. I printed up some of my favorite pics and made them into blank cards. They turned out pretty cute. Also, wanted to include a link to the hilarious Threadbared, it’s like Go Fug Yourself for the 70’s. Have a beautiful (hopefully warmer than here) weekend!

I heard a rumor that I can now post more than one image so… here goes! The first picture is my Friday’s Flickr Fix, with photos by Laura Burlton and Alicia Bock. I think this might be my favorite combination yet.

The second is my finished pages for the Around the World Chunky Page swap. I did the seasons of the midwest (from my flickr pics) with a transparency of Iowa over it.

My awesome sister Esther (who’s about to pop out a baby any minute - when she does I’m off to Vegas!) sent me an Easter/Spring package and I loved how the candy matched my flowers perfectly. For more eye candy, Danielle Thompson is back to posting at her colorful blog. Also, thanks for the donations to Ali’s 6 degrees badge, she’s still in 1st place but it’s close.
